Remixing Brotto’s Grassland

I’ve contributed a remix to the new Brotto release on Tea and Cake records. Go grab the whole thing from here because it’s really insane stuff. More details after the jump.

Besides my track you can find reworks by Railster, Planet Soap, Bunny on Acid, Foolk, Matt The Good and Brotto himself, for a wide variety of different styles.

I must admit it wasn’t really easy remixing grassland, i kept fumbling and never seemed to find stuff that sticked with it. Eventually i ended up working around the main drone and letting it drive the track, so it has kind of a liquid, psychedelic kind of flow that i tried to somehow reign in with all the little fills and edits.

Fireworks Remixes

As one of Homework’s best albums ever, “Fireworks” deserved a bomb remixes release, meant to underline and deconstruct the original one.

FIREWORKS REMIXES adds a wider look to the downbeat scene already visited by Grillo.
Everything in our plans just happened as we involved an important international name like the parisian Fulgeance; a well known italian one like (Costa) and a rising talent from Bologna: Unstable Compound.

Fireworks is revisited but not destroyed: Fulgeance gives a further demonstration of is open minded music with a pure down-funk remix of Brown Box. (Costa) brings some dusty synth shots to the battle remixing Be Aware. Unstable Compound reveals for the first time his new obscure, filtered dubstep side, playing with Double Rare Tender. In the end, Grillo himself liked everything a lot and decided to put his second vision of Big City Lights, which looks more like a brand new track than a remix.
